Jelly Car (Originally known as JelloCar[1]) is a popular game developed for multiple platforms, and later released for iOS(on which it is arguably most well-known), in which the player must control a small car across a two-dimensional landscape whilst maintaining balance by means of (in the case of platforms on which it is supported) accelerometers.

The game features soft body physics which gives it its distinctive gameplay and style, setting it apart from other games of a similar genre. The game has proven extremely popular on the App Store, having reached top ratings and feature-status.

On September 19, 2009, an update to the iOS version of the game was released, which included a video promoting the future release of JellyCar 2. Some users reported that the video did not play for them, and instead simply played the music from the video, followed by a graphic announcing the upcoming game. On 9/24/09 version 1.5.1 was released to fix this bug.

A sequel, Jelly Car 2, has been rated by the ESRB for the PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DSi, Wii, and iOS.

Jelly Car 3 was released on the App Store in February 2011.

Gameplay on iOS

On iOS, the Jelly Car is accelerated by tapping and holding your fingers on either side of the hardware device. There is a special feature that allows the car to be enlarged when the player taps the car. This, however, is limited so you can be giant for a short period of time. The goal of the game is to reach the finish while avoiding obstacles. Obstacles include moving walls, spikes, rolling balls/boulders and flaps.
